Bitrix24 On-Premise Updates
Safe updates of the Bitrix24 on-premise edition: compatibility audit, backup, installation and verification
Why update
Four good reasons not to postpone updating your on-premise edition
Security
Every Bitrix24 update closes known vulnerabilities. An outdated version is an open target for attacks: SQL injection, XSS, unauthorized access to data.
- ✓ CVE fixes and security patches
- ✓ Protection of customer and CRM data
New features
Recent versions include an updated CRM, business process automation, CoPilot AI tools and improvements to tasks and communications.
- ✓ CRM, automation, AI CoPilot
- ✓ New modules and integrations
Compatibility
New Bitrix24 versions require current versions of PHP and MySQL. Support for old PHP versions is being discontinued — a threat to both security and performance.
- ✓ PHP 8.x, MySQL 8.x, current modules
- ✓ Support for new server environments
Stability
Each release fixes bugs from previous versions: CRM glitches, incorrect agent behavior, cache and indexing problems. The system runs more reliably.
- ✓ Fixes for known bugs
- ✓ Improved platform performance
Risks of updating without an audit
What can go wrong if you update without preparation
Three main risks of a “blind” update
These problems occur regularly when updating without prior preparation
Incompatible customizations
Custom modules, third-party components and in-house customizations may not work with the new version. The result: broken business processes, CRM errors, unavailable features.
Data loss
Without a backup, any error during the update risks irreversible loss of CRM records, deals, contacts and documents.
Extended downtime
If the update “crashes” midway, the system may be unavailable for hours or even days — until the cause is found and operation is restored.
That is why we run an audit BEFORE the update
We check compatibility, prepare a backup and test on staging — so that production is updated without risk to your business
How we update
Five steps from your request to an updated production system
Audit of the current version
We determine the exact Bitrix24 version, license status, and PHP and MySQL versions. We assess the “distance” to the current version and identify potential risk points.
Customization check
We analyze all installed modules, third-party components and custom developments. We determine which of them need to be updated or adapted for the new version.
Backup
We make a full backup: database + file system. We verify the integrity of the backup and store it in a safe place. Without a confirmed backup, we do not start.
Update in a test environment
We run the update on a staging copy of the system. We verify all key scenarios: CRM, business processes, forms, integrations. We identify and resolve incompatibilities.
Update in production
Only after successful testing do we update the production server. We verify that the system works after the update and provide a report and recommendations.

Answers to the most common questions about Bitrix24 updates
Can Bitrix24 be updated without taking the site offline?
In most cases, yes. We first run the update in a test environment, verify that everything works correctly, and only then move it to production. A short technical downtime (15–30 min) is possible only for complex updates with a large version gap.
Do you make a backup before updating?
Yes, always. Backing up the database and the file system is the first step before any update. We do not start work without a confirmed backup.
Do you check the compatibility of customizations before updating?
Yes. We analyze all installed modules, third-party components and custom developments. If anything is incompatible with the new version, we tell you in advance and agree on a plan of action.
How much does a Bitrix24 update cost?
The cost depends on the current version, the number of customizations and the service you choose. A simple update from a current version starts at $50. An update with a large version gap or with an audit of customizations starts at $150. We provide the exact cost after an initial audit.
