Bitrix24 Cloud vs On-Premise: How to Choose in 2026
Cloud means a fast start and flat pricing; on-premise means control over your data and code. We compare them on the criteria that actually drive the decision.
Contents
Bitrix24 cloud vs on-premise comes down to what you are willing to run yourself. The cloud gets you started quickly: one flat price per organization, automatic updates, and no server to administer. The on-premise edition gives you control: your data stays on your own server or on EU hosting, you get access to the source code and the API, but you need an administrator. Below is a side-by-side comparison based on the vendor’s public information, last checked on 4 November 2026.
Bitrix24 cloud vs on-premise: comparison by criteria
| Criterion | Cloud | On-premise |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing model | Flat price per organization with a user limit: Basic — 5, Standard — 50, Professional — 100, Enterprise — 250 to 10,000 | Editions Business 50, 100, 250, 500 and Enterprise 1000 (1,000+ users); priced per organization, 12-month subscription |
| Billing | Monthly or annual; annual billing is roughly 30% cheaper | 12-month subscription, annual renewal at 50% of the edition price |
| Data and hosting | Bitrix24 servers; Enterprise runs on SOC-compliant AWS hosting | Your own server or our EU hosting |
| Customization | Bitrix24 Market and REST API | Access to the source code and the API |
| Updates | Automatic | An administrator is required |
| Free trial | 15 days | 30 days |
| AI | Vibe+ plans | AI assistant (CoPilot) and BI Builder |
User limits and the billing model
In the cloud you do not pay per user; you pay per organization, and the plan sets the limit: 5 users on Basic, 50 on Standard, 100 on Professional, and 250 to 10,000 on Enterprise. If your team outgrows the limit, you move to a higher plan. You can pay monthly or annually.
On-premise licenses are also priced per organization, but by edition, from Business 50 to Enterprise 1000. It is a 12-month subscription that has to be renewed every year. As an example, Professional in the cloud costs 289 EUR per month when billed monthly and 199 EUR per month when billed annually; Business 50 on-premise costs 3,590 EUR for the 12-month subscription, and its renewal costs 1,795 EUR. These are different models, so comparing the totals directly is misleading: an on-premise license comes with a server and administration on top.
Data control and hosting
Cloud Bitrix24 runs on the vendor’s servers; for Enterprise the vendor lists SOC-compliant AWS hosting. You deploy the on-premise edition on your own server, or you let us host it: see our EU hosting for on-premise Bitrix24 in Germany. If the physical location of your data matters, for example because of data protection requirements from your EU customers, that is an argument for on-premise.
Customization: Market and REST API vs source code
In the cloud you extend the system with apps from Bitrix24 Market and through the REST API. Vibe+ plans include unlimited Market and REST API access (see our Vibe+ news). With on-premise, the vendor provides access to the source code, except for the mobile app and Bitrix24 Messenger, as well as to the API, which opens the door to custom modules and deep integrations.
Updates and administration
The cloud updates itself. An on-premise installation needs a person who looks after the server, backups and updates. If you have no administrator on staff, you can outsource the role: see support and administrator outsourcing for the on-premise edition.
Free trial and AI
Cloud plans come with a free 15-day trial, the on-premise edition with a free 30-day trial. On AI: for the cloud, the vendor offers the Vibe+ plan line with Vibecode, unlimited AI and an MCP server. For the on-premise editions, the vendor lists an AI assistant (CoPilot) and BI Builder among the features.
Checklist: which one to choose
Choose the cloud if:
- you want to start fast without your own server;
- your team fits within the plan limit and a flat price per organization suits you better than a license plus separate hosting;
- Market apps and the REST API are enough for your needs;
- you want automatic updates and the option to pay monthly.
Choose on-premise if:
- your data must stay on your own server or in a specific country;
- you need access to the source code and custom development;
- you have an administrator, in-house or outsourced;
- you are comfortable with a 12-month subscription renewed at 50% every year.
What to do next
Write down your number of users, the integrations you cannot do without, and any requirements on where data is stored. That is usually enough to rule out one of the options. If you are still unsure, send us a request and we will help you compare both options using your numbers.
